 The Course

This course is an introduction to art and design. It is designed to give you, the student, a variety of experiences in art mediums and techniques. The emphasis is placed on developing artistic skills and vocabulary. This course is aimed at teaching  you how to evaluate and appreciate your own work and the work of others. Becoming aware of how art reflects culture and how art decisions affect the quality of life. This course fulfills the Fine/Practical Arts graduation requirement.

Drawing prompts are used to explore creative thinking. Use 30 mins to 1 hour to create idea bubbles (brainstorming bubbles), choose one of the ideas that relates to the theme and illustrate.

Quizzes

Students will learn about influencial artist that ioened up the world to a series of techniques and tools that created such masterpieces as the Creation of David and The Mona Lisa. In addition students will practice the skills of arts life Salvador Dali and Michelangelo. All learned skills will will be tested through a 10 to 20 question quiz and practical application.

Adobe Creative Cloud

 

Adobe has created a world class series of application that can be used on a variety of platforms in its Creative Suite.

Studeents will gain exposure to:

Photoshop – photo editting, image creation and manipulation

Illustrator – vector based image creations such as logos

Dreamweaver – adavanced websign and coding tool

Indesign – content creator used to combine the attributes of Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and more.

Students are required to comply with the attendance policy of the Batt School. Students will be given an excused absence with a valid reason such as illness.
